Account & Data Deletion
This page explains, in full, what happens when you delete your Outting account or leave a circle — what is erased immediately, what is kept, and why. It is written to satisfy app store account-deletion requirements, but the goal is to just tell you the truth plainly.
Delete your account from inside the app
- Open the app and go to the Circle tab.
- Scroll to your account, at the bottom.
- Tap Delete my account, then confirm twice. The second confirmation exists because this step cannot be undone.
No waiting period, no customer service ticket required.
What happens immediately
- Your name, phone number, year of birth, push notification token, time zone, and any parent contact information are erased.
- You are signed out of Outting on every device.
- Any signal or standing (recurring) plan you had set that has not happened yet is cancelled.
- You are removed from every circle you belonged to.
- If you administered a circle (you created it), it is handed to the member who has been in it the longest. If you were the only member left, the circle itself is deleted.
- Your points balance, streak, and any pending status updates are deleted.
What is kept, and why
The one thing that survives: that you attended a specific past meetup.
A meetup you took part in also belongs to the history of every other real person who was there with you. If your row in that record simply vanished, it would silently rewrite their attendance count and could take back points they honestly earned for showing up. That would not be fair to them, and Outting will not do it.
So that one record survives — but with every personal detail already stripped out at the moment you delete your account. What is left is an anonymous placeholder (shown as “Former member”) attached to that meetup. Specifically not kept alongside it: your name, phone number, year of birth, or any other way to identify you. Your own points for that session are deleted along with everything else — only the fact that a meetup happened, and how many people were there, is preserved for the people who are still in the circle.
Leaving vs. being removed vs. a circle being deleted
These are three different things inside Outting, worth telling apart:
You leave a circle
Your choice, any time. You stop seeing that circle. It is not recorded as a removal, so the same invite code lets you straight back in whenever you want — no one has to approve you again.
An admin removes you
The circle’s admin can remove a member. This is recorded, and the invite code stops working for that person specifically until the admin explicitly lets them back in.
An admin deletes the circle
Ends the circle outright for every member: the circle, its members, its plans and its meetup history all disappear together. Points any member already earned stay on their own personal history — only the circle itself, and its record of who met when, is gone.
You delete your account
Everything above (leaving) happens to every circle you were in, plus your entire personal profile is erased, as described on this page.
Deleting without the app
If you no longer have the app installed, or cannot sign in, email support@reactforge.com from the same phone number's carrier or with the phone number on the account, and ask us to delete it. We may verify the request by sending a one-time code to that phone number before proceeding. Requests are completed within 2 business days.
This cannot be undone
Once deleted, there is no way to restore the account. Signing in again with the same phone number afterward creates a brand new, empty account — it does not reconnect to your old points, history, or circles.
